The hospital room was stark and silent save for the rhythmic beeping of the monitor beside my bed Lying there weak and weary my ambitious career plans felt like a distant irrelevant dream Id spent months burning the candle at both ends a relentless pursuit of a promotion telling myself Id rest after I passed The stress had taken its toll and now instead of studying for the PMP exam my days were filled with doctors visits and hushed conversations The desire to find someone to take my PMP exam for me had been a fleeting fantasy during my most exhausted moments a desperate wish to bypass the effort But now the irony was a bitter pill I couldnt even manage my own health let alone a complex project My body was my most important project and I had failed to manage it This silent sobering moment taught me a profound lesson a brilliant mind is useless without a body to support it The greatest project youll ever manage is your own well being
