My son has cerebral palsy, and getting him into the car for OT sessions is always a battle. He gets overwhelmed easily, and clinics feel like sensory overload. I heard someone here had a therapist come to their house instead. Was that more effective? I just want something that meets him where he’s at, without all the stress.

From what I’ve seen with my niece, OT at home gives kids a sense of control. She never responded well in unfamiliar spaces, but once she had the same therapist show up at home regularly, she started engaging more. The consistency and environment made a big difference. You can’t always recreate that in a clinic room.
Yep, we went that route too. The mobile occupational therapist gold coast came to us and worked with our daughter in her own room using her toys, her chair, her routines. The therapist really understood how to build skills within her comfort zone. No meltdowns, no transport drama—just focused therapy at home. The improvement was noticeable within weeks.
